In memories warm, where journeys unfold,
She wandered the world, both young and old.
Though many of her years were before my time, many of the her last 44 still linger in my mind.
Piccadilly or Morrison’s was such a treat! On Sunday after church, to have a feast. 3 generations of Banks women sharing stories and laughter, and just being together, that’s all that mattered.
In her kitchen filled with love’s embrace, she cooked with care, flavor, and grace.
She taught us how to churn ice cream, which I haven’t done in years, and to make her famous baked beans, which I make several times a year.
On Bassanova Court, everyone would gather, cars blocking others in, but hey, it didn’t matter! The grills were lit, the crabs were boiled, lots of hot fish coming out of the oil.
The yard was full of laughter, love, and light. The trampoline was where you’d find the cousins as the day turned into night. Gatherings were what this home was made for, and I’d be here all day if I told you about more.
Though she has traveled to a peaceful shore,
Her love remains, forevermore.
Auntie Bobbie, godmother, your work on earth is done, it is now your time to rest above, in the warmth of God’s everlasting & endless love.
