Obituary of Andrena Coleman-Nickerson

Andrena M Coleman-Nickerson, the second of three children was born to Rev. Dr. Andrew B. and Susie Jenkins Coleman in Daytona Beach, FL on April 4, 1931. She attended Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church in her early years under the pastorage of her father and was also a member of St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church where her brother Rev Andrew B Coleman, Jr. was the pastor. She was a dedicated member of Greater Israel United Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Duval County public schools and graduated from Stanton class of 1948. She received her master's degree in education from Florida A & M University. She taugh as a science teacher in the public-school systems in Washington D.C., Belle Glade and Jacksonville Florida and later ended her career as a guidance counselor. She was a member of Pi Eta Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She was preceded in death by her daughter Carmen Y Twiggs, parents Rev. Dr. A.B. Coleman, Sr. and Susie J Coleman, brothers Rev A. B. Coleman Jr. & Rev Lincoln J. Coleman, Sr. and nephew, Andrew B Coleman, III. She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted grandson Dr. Andrew C Wright and loving great-grandson, Andrew C. Wright II, sisters-in-law Ida Maudest Coleman and Betty Coleman, nieces Arlene Coleman, Avis Coleman, Michelle (Randall) Wiggins, Clara Coleman; nephew, Lincoln J Coleman, Jr. (/carib); loving caregivers Rosemary Thompson & Tania Dominguez, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
