It broke my heart to hear of Bob's passing. He was my best friend* when we both worked at the CP&L Brunswick Steam Electric Plant. His sense of humor was exactly in sync with mine.
You lost a great one. One of the best.
I'm going to go cry now.
Donald Barnett
*I am now 63 years old, and nobody else has come close. I missed him when I left that power plant, and we lost touch, but I will always remember him.

To have known Bob was such a great pleasure! He was a professional, hard working, intelligent, generous and caring individual to work with at Wolf Creek. Bob is a friend to me, I am sure he was to anyone he ever met as he had such a big heart and glow about him. I wish I could be half as kind and caring as Bob. He always made people feel so good to talk to and would always try to help, if he could; I just enjoyed always seeing him in the hallway with his smile. The world lost a saint when we lost Bob. My prayers are with Bob and his family in this time, but I know Bob is with his maker now smiling. God Bless!

I had the pleasure of working with Bob for several years at Cooper Nuclear Station. Bob always put the customer first, which definitely made for long work hours to ensure the products that the company he worked for always had a quality product. Bob's laughter was infectious and you could always tell when he was in a good mood. The Cooper team hated to see him leave Cooper and go to Wolf Creek, but not as much as to know that he is no longer with us. My deepest sympathy and condolences on your loss, Bob was a good man and friend.

Bob was a consummate professional, dedicated to get his work done correctly and on time, and was a pleasure to work with even when things were not going well. He is one of the best engineers that I had the pleasure to work with over my career. My condolences.

Bob will greatly be missed! Such a kind-hearted man and dedicated worker. I met Mr. Thomas, "Bob" for the first time at MGN (at Wolf Creek); he was selected for a random vehicle search; instead of giving me attitude for being selected, Bob gave me a smile and was very kind and happy to allow me to perform my job duties; we even had a laughing moment because Bob came to work this day in a new vehicle; I asked, "Hey Bob, did you get a new vehicle"? Bob smiled and said, "Well yes I did!" From that point on, I joked with Bob about his new vehicle purchase! Prayers going up for your family. God bless.

Bob was a great man! He always had a kind word and a smile. I could email him 10 times trying to understand something that was so easy to him. He was patient and never made me feel like I was being a bother. I would see him later around the plant and thank him and he would just smile and say it was no problem at all. He always made time for others and never hesitated to help.
